In parallel with the main objective, LIFE ÁGUA DA PRATA will also target, a set of complementary measures towards climate change mitigation.

To promote a low-carbon economy and more resource-efficient, we highlight results around reduction of energy consumption of for water pumping, through water supply gravitational systems, and use of renewable energy sources, through “off-grid” systems for pumping and irrigation.

The shift on the primary water source of the water supply will allow as well to avoid the use of raw materials and resources used in the surface water treatment process (which, despite not being of CME´s responsibility, should not be neglected, as it involves energy and reagents consumption).
